PLANT, NOURISH, GROW, LEARN

Nestled between the Casitas and Olive Groves, the Culinary Garden focuses on bringing hyper-seasonal produce to our food and beverage program. Whether it is heirloom tomatoes for a gazpacho, borage flowers to adorn a simple salad or chili peppers for an infused spicy margarita recipe, we aim to highlight the very best our climate has to offer.

Come see what is growing across our 45-acre resort and enjoy an opportunity to meet other guests on the property whilst sipping a sundowner under the olive trees.  Wander through the olive groves, visit our fluffy new egg-layers, our super-pollinator honey bees, and discover the source of many of our fresh salsas, herbs, and seasonings used in our Pony Room dishes and cocktails.

The Garden and Sustainability

It is a privilege to be able to work with our numerous local sustainable farmers, fishermen, and ranchers, and we aim to support their rich diversity by providing peak of season produce to our guests from those who share the same sustainability and food regeneration values. At Rancho Valencia, we are lucky to be the custodians of 45 beautiful acres in Rancho Santa Fe, where we too are growing our own edible landscape. Along with our culinary garden, we keep rare breed chickens and honeybees, and are vigorously adding a wide variety of fruiting trees to our existing orchards. Resort Guests are invited to join Master Gardener Casey Woodall, and Food and Beverage Director Simon Harris in the Culinary Garden every Wednesday at 4:30pm. Sip a glass, sample the bounty of our thriving garden, and learn about all things Rancho Valencia!
