Eduardo played tennis in high school (#1 Singles and #1 Doubles) and two years in San Diego Junior College (#3 Singles and #1 Doubles). He was Head Tennis Pro at Windemere in La Jolla, California from 1984 to 1985 and the Head Tennis Pro at Rancho La Puerta Resort and Spa in Tecate, Mexico from 1984 to 1989. Eduardo joined us at Rancho Valencia as Head Tennis Pro in June 1989 when the Resort first opened and has continued in that role to the present. He is USPTA certified and has been active in the San Diego Division of the USPTA (treasurer from 1993-1995, the Tennis Pro of the Year in 1995, Vice President in 1996 and Chairman of the Divisions’ Multicultural Committee). Two juniors that train at the SES Tennis Center are now competing nationally and internationally. He coordinates and holds Pro-Am tennis tournaments as fundraisers on an annual basis.

Eduardo relates well to all ages and levels, making the process of learning tennis fun and exciting. He enjoys teaching beginner and intermediate players the proper stroke techniques so that they improve quickly, in addition to the challenge of teaching advanced players singles and doubles strategies as they advance their games.

Eduardo’s patience creates a calm and focused learning environment- he assists players with visualization techniques at all stages of player development, in addition to proper stroke technique and double tactics. A taskmaster for technique, his teaching philosophy is “We used to think that practice makes perfect, but in reality, perfect practice makes perfect.”

Outside of tennis, Eduardo loves to travel and spend quality time with his family, both in the US and internationally (he is currently learning Italian!) When he’s not with his family or on the tennis courts, his other sports include a love for baseball and basketball.
