Mark has been a fitness professional for over 20 years and holds a B.S. in Biochemistry/Cell Biology from the University of California San Diego, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He went on to obtain his Mad Dogg Spinning Certification, NASM Personal Training Certification, is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Special Populations Specialist through the National Strength Conditioning Association, as well as a National Academy of Sports Medicine Corrective Exercise Specialist. In addition, Mark is a Certified Level 2 Functional Movement Coach, and a Certified Level 2 Precision Nutrition Coach.
Having the opportunity to work with all types of populations from young athletes to seasoned athletes including special populations with chronic conditions throughout his career, Mark has the unique ability to inspire others to find the intrinsic value in themselves to live a healthy and happy lifestyle. The span of Mark’s education and experience allows him to have a well-rounded and holistic approach to all his personal training clients while remaining versatile to customize as needed.
His challenging, high-energy spin classes are sure to keep you motivated and pushing you to achieve your best. Mark teaches a musical, body rhythm-based class where all drills and intervals are designed around the beat. With the combination of great music and individualized instruction, you will leave feeling like you worked hard and had fun while doing it.
Fun fact: A lifelong athlete, playing baseball in high school and rowing 4 years in college, Mark likes to consider himself a lifelong athlete, and continues to compete in all types of running events, triathlons, mountain biking, or anything that is fun and challenging in addition to his busy Spin class and personal training schedule. He has hiked the mountains of Nepal, Machu Pichu, and has even been to the base camp of Mount Everest! He used to own a café but decided to put all of his time into teaching fitness.
